SP Shocker AMP Pink/Black
The Shocker was one of the first high end electronic paintball markers in the industry. Through the years the Shocker has had many versions, with each improving upon the last. New for 2020 is the Shocker AMP or Advanced Modular Platform. A completely redesigned bolt system is the most efficient yet and provides approximately a 20% increase from the XLS. The bolt features a Twist-Lock design that allows for tool-less bolt removal. Maybe the most significant improvement can be seen through the reduced operating pressure. The AMP can operate at an astonishingly low 110psi compared to 160psi from the XLS. This means that the AMP can shoot the most brittle paint without fear of breaking balls in the breech. The solenoid valve also features tool-free removal making maintenance faster and easier than ever before. The Advanced Modular Platform comes in two versions, one that is electronic and one that is mechanical. Both electronic and classic versions feature the same bolt system and internals. The difference lies in the frame which can be swapped out in a matter of seconds transforming your marker from electronic to mechanical or vice versa. A newly redesigned body and grip frame improve upon ergonomics making the Shocker feel even better on the field. The engineers at Shocker Paintball listened to players feedback and have made improvements to make this the best Shocker yet.
From the birth of electronic paintball through the resurgence of mechanical, the Shocker® has evolved at the cutting edge of the game. The Shocker® AMP keeps this tradition moving forward with new refinements, maintaining its position as the ultra-efficient, ultra-slim and ultra-light avant-garde paintball marker
AMP’D UP FEATURES – EASY TO USE.
The Shocker® AMP uses a fully re-designed control system, featuring simple plug-in connections, and a zero-pinch wire configuration. The Shocker® AMP makes maintenance and mechanical conversion approachable for almost any player.
Water resistance, battery retention, and software function have all been improved over previous Shocker® models.
TWO-PIECE BOARD DESIGN – With less to move and reconfigure, the Shocker® AMP is easier than ever to switch between ripping fast electro to top-end mechanical operation.
TRIGGER BASED PROGRAMMING
Intuitive trigger based programming makes it easy to make changes to firing mode, rate of fire and even dwell with just a button click and a few trigger inputs. If you make a mistake, or forget the stock setting – a factory reset takes just 5 seconds.
USB-C SOFTWARE UPDATES
USB-C connection makes software updates a snap with any USB-C data cable and a Windows PC. SP works alongside leagues all over the world to make sure that the Shocker® always has the capability to adhere to any mode of fire or rate of fire limits put in place by major leagues. Shocker®s software update system also allows players to change the language displayed on the screen with just a quick update.
LIGHT YET DURABLE MICROSWITCH
The onboard microswitch of the Shocker® electronic system is light and snappy – offering excellent response and useful life. Securement to the control board is beefed up with the incorporation of two torx head screws that go completely through the main board and secure the switch.
9 VOLT POWER
Powered by a 9-volt battery the Shocker® is never short on power, quality alkaline batteries can be found around the world, and swapping a battery is as simple as opening the grips.
New tension style battery retainers making swapping the battery in your Shocker® AMP easier than ever before.
WATER RESISTANCE
Water-resistant coating is applied to all of the electronic boards in the Shocker® and helps keep the marker laying paint, even in the rain. The AMP® grip increases water and debris resistance with a weather tough seal around the entire grip panel.
PHOTOELECTRIC EYE SYSTEM
Break beam eyes in the breach virtually eliminate chopped paintballs, and can quickly reset after an obstruction to keep the game moving. Designed for competition use and utilizing high frequency light to function even when partially obscured by debris or paint residue.
FASTER FRAME REMOVAL – The distributed electronics driving the Shocker® AMP also make maintenance faster, by allowing for faster grip frame removal.
The main board powers and controls the marker, while a secondary PCB board is mounted in the body and routes the eye and solenoid connections away from dangerous pinch points.
AMP’D UP PERFORMANCE – MORE SHOTS, LESS PRESSURE.
The Shocker® AMP core is all new and redesigned with fantastic efficiency, unparalleled reliability, and the lowest operating pressure ever offered in a Shocker® marker.
All bolt components are hard anodized from aircraft-grade aluminum alloy and precision fit with urethane dynamic o-rings. A simple twist lock latching system makes removal and maintenance a trouble-free and tool-free experience.
PRECISION MACHINED
Precision machined from aircraft grade aluminum and then anodized with Type III anodizing – harder than normal anodizing this helps the bolt system resist scratches from dirt and debris, while insuring smooth operation.
LOW RECIPROCATING MASS
Incredibly lightweight moving bolt component keeps reciprocating mass at a minimum – felt recoil is absolutely minimized. By utilizing a longer bolt (nose to tail) the force created by the bolt moving inside the body is evenly distributed between the grip frame and regulator giving a linear feel to the shot, and limiting barrel rise during a stream.
HIGH PERFORMANCE SEALS
High performance seals throughout the bolt system provide long life and ease of maintenance. Seals chosen for their individual wear, friction, and expansion properties are specifically chosen for each application within the system to maximize all weather performance. When kept clean and lubricated Shocker® bolt systems are capable of multiple seasons of use without needing to be replaced.
SKILLFULLY ENGINEERED
Thoughtful design of the bolt tip prevents clipping when used with high force loaders. The bolts rounded edge, and forward o-ring guide the paintball stack carefully out of the way when chambering and firing the paintball in the breach. The open face bolt design physically contacts the ball at its strongest point – its edge – thus distributing any physical force across the greatest surface area of the ball. Designed to maximize the effectiveness of the Shocker® lever style ball detents – the bolt face works with the detents to minimize roll back (paint moving in the breach due to small or oddly shaped paintballs).
LOW PRESSURE OPERATION
Low operating pressure and low physical inertia reduce impact on the ball when moving the ball into position and firing. Low pressure air delivery minimizes physical deformation of the ball when accelerating the ball to velocity minimizing breaks. Even small and brittle tournament grade paint can be easily utilized with the Shocker®’s bolt core.
The Shocker® AMP core utilizes a divorced valve bolt system that separates the part of the bolt system that moves the paintball in the chamber, and the part of the bolt system that fires the air propelling the ball down the barrel. By separating these internal functions we are able to achieve increased efficiency at lower pressures. Meaning more shots per air tank fill, and less broken paintballs per case.
This separated system also reduces the number of seals in the marker that are exposed to debris and environmental contaminates, stretching o-ring life to a million cycles (in standard use scenarios). With basic regular maintenance your Shocker® will not only be more reliable than other markers, but have lower ownership costs over the life of the marker.
Unique to the AMP core is the integrated quick exhaust valve integrated into the base of the Shocker® core. This system allows the bolt to vent remaining air directly at the bolt kit rather than forcing air back through the marker and solenoid. This means that the Shocker® AMP can cycle upwards of 22bps without measurable drop off. This is critical for players using un-capped semi-auto or mechanical where your ROF may rapidly change during a string of shots.
ULTRA GENTAL BOLT – Efficiency improvements have lowered the Shocker® AMP’s operating pressure from 160psi all the way down to 110psi. Whether on its own in mechanical mode, or combined with the VisionTM anti-chop system as an electro, the Shocker® AMP is more gentle on paint than ever before to make sure it breaks on target and not in the breech.
TIME TO GET AMP’D – ABOUT YOUR TRIGGER.
The Shocker® AMP features one of the best trigger systems ever invented, capable of adjustment to fit any player’s preferences, infinitely customizable and reliable. Mounted with a single screw and riding on sealed roller bearings the AMP trigger is smooth almost maintenance-free. Clean-up is a breeze with a single screw mounting the trigger, removing the trigger to clean out debris can be accomplished in just a few minutes with a single tool.
Guided by feedback from players of all genres the Shocker® AMP trigger is ideal for semi-auto, ramping, and burst modes allowing the player to maintain a steady rate of fire no matter your chosen firing mode. With a re-designed trigger profile and reshaped trigger guard, the AMP trigger has a more natural fit for many players and eliminates “hot-spots” and friction points, even when used with a shorter air-tank.
COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZABLE
Four way adjustment allows the player to customize the trigger’s feel to their individual preferences. Adjustments include – Pre-Travel, Post-Travel, Firing Point, and magnetic resistance. With nearly infinite variations to set up – your sure to find something that fits your taste.
SOLID ALUMINUM
Solid aluminum construction mounted on sealed stainless steel bearings make the trigger system of the Shocker® incredibly strong with very little flex or deflection. By minimizing flex in the trigger, it feels more solid and confidence inspiring while in use – while minimizing binding that can occur with polymer trigger systems when flexed.
EXTERNALLY ADJUSTABLE
Easy access to all adjustment screws from the outside of the marker, even with the trigger installed. Players can easily access all the set screws and fully customize their trigger without ever removing the frame, or the trigger.
TOURNAMENT LEGAL
Thoughtful engineering pairing the Shocker® trigger with two different trigger bounce filters integrated into the Shocker®’s electronic package assures that even the most crisp trigger pull can be configured in a bounce free, tournament legal set up.
By shortening the high of the trigger, the Shocker® AMP’s trigger is now more responsive, traveling through its swing in a quicker arc meaning semi-auto is eaiser to keep in rhythm and ramping is easier to sustain.
Examining player ergonomic choices pointed out improvements that could be made in the Shocker® trigger guard, and the AMP takes advantage of those changes. By increasing the overall volume of space inside the guard, but moving that space up towards the marker and out towards the regulator puts the space where players fingers need it, while not overwhelming the aesthetics of the frame.
Maintaining successful features from previous generations means we also built on previous successes. Adjustment screws now using a 1/16th hex key – offering better tool engagement, easier application of torque and longer hardware life. The AMP features a single screw mount system that takes the guess work out of centering the trigger – a wiggle free perfectly centered trigger is accomplished a single mount screw. Trigger removal is accomplished with the same 1/16th hex key used for trigger adjustment.
SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATED – CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE.
The Shocker® AMP and CC utilize a uni-body design incorporating the regulator housing into the body of the marker. This minimizes the part count of the marker, allowing the Shocker® to achieve its iconic light weight and clean profile. Integrating the regulator housing into the marker also reduces the number of seals in the marker and eliminates potential leak points. Factory regulator cover is included standard on the Shocker® AMP and CC models.
TOURNAMENT PROVEN DESIGN
Proven design and precise machining deliver a regulator that provides the flow characteristics and consistency needed for top level paintball. Players of all levels around the world have trusted the Shocker® regulator system to deliver consistency over the chronograph. Easily adjusted with a single tool on the fly.
PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE BUILT IN
Pressure relief valve (PRV) technology integrated into the Shocker® regulator helps prevent damage to internal components and increases safety for the player. Designed into the regulator base, the PRV is designed to vent excess pressure in the case of a regulator seat failure, or an extreme over adjustment by the player.
HIGH PERFORMANCE SEALS
High performance seals throughout the Shocker® regulator provide long life. With regular maintenance players will not need to replace seals for multiple seasons, and spares for a rebuild are included with the marker.
The Shocker® AMP is sculpted from aircraft-grade aluminum that pushes the boundaries of modern 5-axis milling equipment. Using top grade alloys and finishing techniques Shocker®s are artfully anodized to take the abuse associated with top-level paintball.
By integrating the body and regulator the Shocker® platform is stronger than multi-piece body designs and offers a more rigid shooting platform that polymer-based markers simply cannot match.
Only two things are better known in tournament paintball than the Shocker – The Freak and All-American barrels. The Shocker® comes with the best of both. The ‘cocker threaded Freak® back combines with optional inserts to adjust bore size for optimum performance when weather and paint conditions change. Helical porting keeps the All-American front quiet while dispersing air to reduce turbulence for tack-driving accuracy.
The Freak® XL features an eight inch control bore that allows the air to remain behind the ball longer, allowing it to do more work accelerating the ball – with less air. This means that the new Shocker® AMP and CC can operate at lower operating pressure, and increase efficiency over previous Shocker® models.
Because the Shocker® AMP and CC use the Freak XL barrel system, players now have the added advantage of quick turn Autococker threads on the factory Freak XL barrel back – so removing your barrel takes 1/2 as many turns while remaining compatible with any Autococker threaded marker.
